Paul J. Gam
Partner
Paul Gam is former Chairman and CEO of Zurich Medical, an innovator of cardiovascular devices with the mission to help reduce healthcare costs around the world. Paul has extensive experience and expertise in finance, risk management, cross cultural global business, strategic transactions, and business development.
Paul was Vice President, International Development, for St. Jude Medical (now part of Abbott Laboratories). He led M&A, developed strategic alliances, and drove business development initiatives for the International Division. Prior to that, Paul was Finance Director of the Cardiac Rhythm Management business and then headed Corporate Global Internal Audit at Medtronic.
Paul serves on the boards of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota and Aware Integrated, and was previously on the boards of Argon Medical Devices, WW Medical & Healthcare Holdings, and Summit Brewing Company. Paul was a national advisor to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Paul has been recognized as a W.K. Kellogg National Leadership Fellow, a Salzburg Global Fellow and a Bush Foundation Leadership Fellow. He has also received numerous awards, including the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Business Journal Minority Business Executive Award, the CityBusiness 40 Under 40 Award and the Twin Cities International Citizen Award.
Paul earned a BSc in Accounting and an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Minnesota, and is a graduate of Queen’s College in Hong Kong. Paul has also earned the NACD Directorship Certification and is a CPA (Inactive) and CGMA.

Michael H. Butscheidt
Partner
Michael Butscheidt is a highly experienced senior executive and independent consultant with over 40 years in the medical technology industry. Michael has been involved in numerous technology adoption and market assessments for mergers & acquisitions.
With extensive expertise in sales, marketing, and operational management, he has deep knowledge of the electrophysiology and cardiovascular sectors, particularly in active and passive implants, capital equipment, and disposable products. Michael has been involved in numerous technology adoption and market assessments for M&A. His strategic insight and executional strength consistently help organizations sharpen operational and commercial focus, maximize profitability, and ensure long-term success.
Michael formerly held general management and senior executive positions at St. Jude Medical, ELA Medical, Teletronic and Cardiac Pacemakers. Early in his career, Michael was a banker at Privat und Handelsbank and Swiss Bank Corporation after graduating from the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany.

Winifred C. Wu, FRAPS
Senior Advisor
Winifred Wu has over 30 years of experience in small and large global life sciences companies. She is the founder of Strategic Regulatory Partners, adding value with integrity, sound judgement, strategic thinking, and domain expertise to multi-national pharmaceutical and medical device companies, private equity investors and pre-IPO start-ups.
As part of the leadership team at Medtronic Neuromodulation, Wini served as Vice President of Regulatory and Medical Affairs until 2010. She also led various corporate-wide initiatives in enterprise risk management and M&A activities. Wini had held leadership roles at MGI PHARMA and 3M Pharmaceuticals. Her functional expertise includes regulatory affairs, clinical research, medical safety, and compliance. She led several AdvaMed industry working groups in collaborating with the FDA to update regulations, polices and guidances.
Wini is a board director for Altimate Medical Holdings and strategic advisor to Enspire DBS Therapy. She has served as an expert advisor for the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC) early feasibility study working group, and as an industry representative to the FDA Device Advisory Panel. Wini was awarded the FDA’s CDRH Director’s Special Citation for Education. She is a Fellow of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) and holds an MBA from the University of Saint Thomas.

Z. Alex Zhang

Alex Zhang has over 35 years of experience advising institutional investors, multinational corporations, private equity, venture capital funds, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals in cross-border investments, M&A, equity financing, regulatory matters, and corporate restructurings, particularly relating to the Asia-Pacific region.
Alex also has a very broad range of experience in investing, licensing and commercial transactions in the life sciences area. He has been named and ranked multiple times by several well-known legal publications such as the Chambers and Legal 500 as a member of “Hall of Fame” and “Deal Maker of the Year” for corporate and M&A transactions. Alex holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota, and a BA from the Institute of International Relations, Beijing.
